In August, a compilation album entitled “Pura Pasión†was released in Argentina, which entered in at top of the charts in Argentina. Its success was confirmed following the concert at Teatro Maipo in Buenos Aires, when tickets were sold out days in advance of the performance.
On October 6th the Teatro Real in Madrid hosted performances by Pasión Vega for a tango show called “Mano a Manoâ€, alongside the tenor from Granada, José Manuel Zapata. Following this, she became the first “popular†music artist to perform at the Teatro Real while interpreting something other than the classical genre.
Pasión Vega released her first album in 2002. She received a gold record for the album Banderas de nadie (2003) and a second gold record for Flaca de amor (2005) before releasing her live CD+DVD Pasión en el Maestranza (2005), recorded during a concert in Seville. Her fourth album, La reina del Pay Pay (2006), achieved a third gold record in Spain, before the artist recorded the compilation album Pura Pasión (2007). Pasión Vega has been awarded four Premios de la Música and a Premio Amigo, in addition to other awards, for her music. |
