Facto Delafé y las Flores Azules is a band from Barcelona, featuring Marc Barrachina “Facto” (Ex-Songstone), Oscar D’aniello “Delafé”, also a member of the band Mishima and Helena Miquel “Las Flores Azules”, vocalist of Élena.
Their adventure as a band began in 2002 and their first studio demos were recorded in 2003. In September 2003, the group received its first award in the competition “Jóvenes Promesas de El Masnou” and in 2004 the song “Mar el poder del mar” was chosen as “Song of the month” on the program “Disco Grande” for RNE Radio 3, presented by Julio Ruiz. In January 2005, the demo “El Monstruo de las Ramblas” was selected as best demo 2004 by a listeners’ vote on the program “Disco Grande” on RNE-Radio 3. In November 2005, the group recorded its first album “Vs. El Monstruo de las Ramblas” and from hereon the group became a well-known addition to the Spanish music scene. Their first single, “Mar el Poder del Mar” can be listened to on many Spanish radio stations; critics’ recommendations are unanimous and word on the street is that the group is an upcoming revelation; they currently play concerts across the whole of Spain.
The video clip “Mar el Poder del Mar” was hugely successful and received many awards. In July 2007, following the re-release of the album “Vs. El Monstruo de las Ramblas”, with Warner Music Spain, the group released its second single “La Fuerza”, one of their most representative songs with video-clip, filmed in collaboration with the groups’ fans.
In 2006, the group wrote the song “Solo Palabras” B.S.O for the short film “Afasia” by Coral Igualador, which features on the group’s second album “La Luz de la Mañana”.
B.S.O. “YO SOY LA JUANI” BY BIGAS LUNA
Two songs composed for B.S.O, “La Juani” and “Pasan las Luces”, which were used in the film “Yo soy la Juani”, also feature on the group’s album, “Luz de la Mañana”. Bigas Luna discovered the group through his daughter and immediately fell in love with the album. Coincidently, at that time, he was in the process of defining the music that would be used in the film, together with the film producer Luis de Val. They decided to contact the group to ask them to compose some tracks, based on the script, for the film.
The sound track for “Yo Soy la Juani” features hip hop, electronic music and reggaeton. Music by Facto Delafé y Las Flores Azules is used to accompany some of the film’s most intimate moments. The tracks written by the group, unedited until now, are: “La Juani”, “Pasan Las Luces” and “Luces Blancas Aves”, as well as “Crema Solar”, which was taken from their album “vs. El Monstruo de las Ramblas”.
Facto Delafé y Las Flores Azules in “La Luz de la Mañana”
The style of Facto Delafé y Las Flores Azules is consolidated in their second album. If “Vs. El Monstruo de Las Ramblas” was an intimate reflection on the city, the group reveals a more festive, positive, shining and optimist outlook with “La Luz de la Mañana”, both in terms of lyrics and melodies.
MUSIC
The songs by Facto Delafé y Las Flores Azules are a mixture of hip-hop and pop, as they combine hip-hop with melodies and structures that are more closely aligned with pop, soul or electronic music. The musical structure is well written, and the lyrics succeed in recreating the art of the songwriter: the act of writing socially and poetically inspired lyrics. Their songs capture a new and original style that has been named by some as Hip-Pop. Influences of Facto Delafé y Las Flores Azules range from surf music to independent pop rock, touching upon soul. Groups such as Flaming Lips, Beach Boys, The Roots, Dr. Octagon, Yo La Tengo, Serrat have also been a clear influencing factor in the creation of their music.
The groups’ live acts are enriching, strong, participatory with an original choreography that has a generous spirit and spreads an infectious feeling of happiness.
