A festival that will commence on December 16th and close its long series of performances with Pasión Vega in a show especially conceived for the Gran Teatre del Liceu on April 27th, 2009.

The X Mil-lenni Festival is committed with its roots, as is demonstrated by the prominence of Catalan performers such as: Raimon, La Locomotora Negra – fusing together with the choir Coral Saint Jordi interpreting texts from Salvador Espriu – or Antonia Font youth group. Paco Ibañez and the Catalans Facto Delafé y las flores azules will also be at the festival among other performers offering their talented artistic support to the following shows: Roger Mas, Xavier Baró, Feliu Ventura, Mishima or the children’s choir Cor Infantil Sant Cugat.

Recalling previous editions brings back Gotan Project who will inaugurate the festival and participated in the fifth edition. Also returning are Michael Nyman, Enrique Morente, Noa, Goran Bregovic and Ainhoa Arteta with her exceptional voice will make us relive past editions in which they participated. Especially important on the bill boards is the performance of Josep Carreras & Sara Baras which will be their first presentation together in Barcelona. A unique presentation which will occur after their performance in the Royal Albert Hall of London programmed for next December 11th.

The X Festival will be a parade of names that together with Tracy Chapman, José González, OneRepublic, Ayo y Pitingo, among many others, will make this festival a good option for the nights of the next months.
