The Vivaldi Chorus – Young Catalan Singers was created twenty years ago by the pianist and director Oscar Boada. From the beginning, as a school choir, it has surpassed frontiers, clichés and expectations becoming one of international reference. They have performed in various European, North and South American countries. They have won the most important international awards and collected their innovative and electrifying repertoire in more than eleven CD’s. It cooperates regularly in the operatic productions of the Liceo de Barcelona and has recorded the sound tracks of films by Almodovar and Balagueró.

The Vivaldi Chorus, the result of a decisive wager for good music by IPSI School of Barcelona, is an outstanding performer of our music. They recover works by Catalan authors forgotten by history, and since 2004, commissions Catalan composers and premiere their pieces (Rigol: Misa Brevis, Demestres: Stabat Mater, Brotons: Misa Brevis, Guinovart: Misa Brevis and Los Pastores).
Â
The Vivaldi Chorus is a unique Catalan entity and has its own concert cycle in L’Auditori de Barcelona. This choir is a fervent promoter and standard bearer of Catalan musical culture and at the same time it demonstrates that, in schools, it is possible to search for excellence in a musical scope.
